Worked flat on straight knitting needles, there’s no knitting in the round needed to make this toy, just stocking-stitch and increasing and decreasing stitches, so he’s suitable for knitters with just a little experience. Triceratops measures 50cm/19.6” long when completed and is very round, the perfect size for children to cuddle!

Yarns recommended for this pattern: we used Stylecraft Special Chunky in Aspen (1422) and Stylecraft Special Chunky For Babies in Baby Blue (1232) for the main colours.
We also used small amounts of Stylecraft Special Chunky For Babies in Baby Pink (1230) and Baby Lemon (1233) for the accents and very small amounts of Dk yarn for the cheek circles and the decorative circles for the back of the dinosaur. You can of course use any other yarns you like.
You’ll also need a length of black Dk yarn for sewing the eyes, 4.5mm long straight knitting needles, toy stuffing and a darning needle.
