Knit a set of cheerfully bright gingerbread houses and bobbly sheep decorations with our  knitting pattern set.

We knitted these toy sheep and gingerbread houses using yarn left over from making our Winter Fairy and Christmas Angel dolls, so this is a nice way to use up the leftover yarn if you’ve already made that project. Otherwise you can use any chunky weight yarn you like to make these.

The patterns are simply written and take you step-by-step through knitting the textured stitch of the mini-sheep, a great way to learn new knitting skills and maybe make presents for friends.

The little fairy houses knit up fast and can be decorated with sequins so they glitter in the light. Hang them from a tree, make them into colourful bunting or line them up on a shelf to bring a pop of colour to your room.

Houses measure 11cm tall, mini-sheep are 9cm tall and 13cm long and look lovely hanging on a tree.

To make these patterns you will need:

We used small amounts of Stylecraft Special Chunky in Pistachio 1822 (green), Paintbox Simply Chunky in Blood Orange 319, Cygnet Kiddies Supersoft Chunky in Clover 2062 (light blue) Paintbox Simply Chunky in Ballet Pink 352, and Paintbox Simply Chunky in White 300 for the house rooves. You can also use any chunky yarn you have in your stash instead.
