Are you ready for some quick chicken knitting?
This cute round hen is knitted from white chunky yarn and is the perfect size for small hands to hold. Worked flat on 4.5mm straight knitting needles, she would make a lovely Easter gift and can be knitted in an afternoon. Basic knitting knowledge is required to make this pattern: casting on and off, knitting, purling and basic increasing and decreasing. Chicken measures 24cm tall when completed.
To knit this chick you will need some chunky yarn in white, along with a small amount of chunky yarn in yellow and red (you can use any make of yarn you like)
We used: Just under half a ball of Stylecraft Special Chunky in White (1001) (you should be able to make two chickens from one ball of this yarn) Small amount of Stylecraft Special Chunky in Matador Red (1010) Small amount of King Cole Big Value Chunky in Yellow (828)
You’ll also need:
- A pair of 4.5mm straight knitting needles
- Darning needle
- Toy stuffing
- A length of black Dk yarn to embroider the eyes
