Knit up a cuddly Stegosaurus dinosaur in soft colours; with his little orange spines he’s a cute summer project worked in chunky yarn.

No knitting in the round is needed to make this Dino, he’s worked flat on 4.5mm knitting needles and the pattern takes you step-by-step through knitting and making up. He's a perfect companion to our Rainbow Dinosaur (pattern here: https://gifthorsekits.co.uk/rainbow-dinosaur-knitting-pattern)

To knit this pattern you will need to use these techniques:

kfb Knitting in the front and back of a stitch to increase.
ssk To decrease. Slip the next 2 stitches to the right needle. Insert the left needle into the fronts of these two stitches and knit them together.
K2tog knit two stitches together (to decrease)
K3tog knit three stitches together (to decrease)

You can use any chunky weight yarn you have in your stash but we recommend a ball of Stylecraft Special Chunky in Aspen (colour 1422) for the body and small amounts of Stylecraft Special Chunky in Spice (colour 1711) for the spines. You will also need a very small amount of Dk yarn in the colour/make of your choice for the blushing cheek circles. We used Peter Pan Dk in Coral (colour PD19)

When finished, this toy measures 32cm long and 22cm tall.

Once purchased, the pattern will be emailed to you as a PDF immediately so you can get knitting!

(Please note this product is a downloadable pattern NOT a kit)

I have just completed this and, as ever with gift horse kits, they are easy to follow but the results are always incredible. Thank you for another great pattern. I am sure my grandson will enjoy it on his first birthday!
