Knit a set of four chunky, cuddly garden birds for Spring
This new knitting pattern contains instructions for knitting a Robin, a Blackbird, a Song Thrush and a Blue Tit, some of the most recognisable and well-loved British garden birds, and fun to make for Spring crafting. With their cheeky look and expressive eyes they make lovely gifts for kids.
You‘ll be taken step-by-step through knitting and making up these four birds in soft chunky yarn, with lots of photographs to help you on your way.
To make these birds you’ll need to be able to knit, purl, and work increasing and decreasing stitches. The pattern will teach you how to knit texture and how to do simple colourwork.
You will need: chunky yarn in various colours (we used a combination of Stylecraft Special Chunky, King Cole Big Value Chunky and Cygnet Chunky but you can use any type you like), a pair of 4.5mm straight knitting needles, scraps of felt, cotton, toy stuffing and sewing needles.
Each bird measures 16cm tall when completed.
Please note this is a downloadable pattern and not a kit. Once purchased, your PDF pattern will be instantly emailed to you so you can get knitting!
