Knit a cuddly sausage dog with our newest knitting pattern; a sweet project for autumn.
This pattern contains instructions to knit and make up a cute puppy both with or without a colourful jumper- and he makes a lovely Christmas gift for dog lovers!
Made from chunky yarn and knitted on straight knitting needles, there is no working in the round. Suitable for knitters with just a little experience, the pattern uses increasing and decreasing stitches to shape- the body/head is knitted in one piece with the tail, legs and ears knitted separately and sewn on afterwards.
Sausage dogs measure 30cm long when complete.
Suggested Yarns
We used a ball of Stylecraft Special Chunky in Camel (1420) for the dog. For the (optional) jumper we used some Stylecraft Special Chunky in Matador Red (1010). You can of course use any colour chunky yarns you have in your stash if you prefer. You will also need a pair of straight 4.5mm knitting needle, toy stuffing, darning needle, and a length of black chunky yarn for the eyes.
