The first pattern from our Brighten Up Your Autumn knitting range, this cute pink butterfly is knitted from chunky yarn and brings a nice pop of colour to your cold weather knitting.
The pattern is written in a clear and straightforward style that makes it simple to follow. Using knit, purl, increasing and decreasing stitches, she is knitted flat in chunky yarn using thick 7mm knitting needles so she knits up nice and quickly.
To make your butterfly you will need: some chunky pink yarn (we suggest one and a half balls of Rico Design Essentials Big in Neon Pink) and some chunky turquoise and yellow yarn (we suggest half a ball of King Cole Big Value Chunky in Yellow and a ball of Stylecraft Special Chunky in Aspen) You can of course knit the butterfly from any chunky yarn you have in your stash. You will also need a length of black Dk yarn for the eyes, a pair of 7mm single pointed knitting needles, toy stuffing, darning needle and some thin card to place inside the wings if desired (wings can also be stuffed with toy filling instead)
