We love this cute Messenger Pigeon with his slightly daft expression and big feet!
Knitted from chunky yarn, this pattern also includes instructions to make a little bag that tucks under his wing so you can pop a note or a treat inside it if you’re knitting him as a gift. He’s a lovely Valentines present!
The pattern uses increasing and decreasing to shape (Kfb, K2tog etc) and is knitted flat on 4.5mm straight knitting needles.
Pigeon measures 43cm tall when finished.
Suggested Yarns
We used a ball of Stylecraft Special Chunky in Silver (1203) for the main colour and small amounts of Paintbox Simply Chunky in colour Washed Teal (332) and colour Peach Orange (354). For the bag we used a small amount of King Cole Big Value Chunky in Yellow (colour 828)
You can of course use any colour chunky yarns you have in your stash if you prefer.
