New Caterpillar Toy Knitting Pattern – Perfect for Stash Busting

This cute Curious Caterpillar Toy is a fun weekend knitting project and makes a lovely tactile toy for children. Designed with stash-busting in mind, this design uses small amounts of DK yarn and features easy, approachable colourwork—making it a great project for knitters of all skill levels.

You can customise your caterpillar with stripes and shapes in any colour combinations you like. Whether you're working from leftover yarn scraps, coordinating a rainbow from your stash or making him monochrome this project is an easy way to use up odds and ends. The pattern includes clear illustrated step-by-step instructions with an emphasis on teaching the colourwork. Caterpillar measures approximately 37cm/14.5 inches long when finished.

You Will Need:

- Small amounts of Dk yarns in any combinations of colours you like. We used: Wendy Supreme Dk in Pumpkin & Buttercup, Wendy Peter Pan Dk in Spring Leaf, Petal & Blossom, Ricorumi Dk in Sky Blue. You can of course use any Dk yarns you prefer

- A pair of 3mm straight knitting needles

- Small amount if toy stuffing

- A pair of 6mm black toy safety eyes with click-on backs (or you can embroider the eyes)

- Darning needle
